We are happy to have a many special events at Arroyo in the 2017-2018 year. Below are details on the major events. For the latest event and general school dates, see the School Calendar. If you would like to volunteer for these events, please go to our Volunteer Opportunities page to view current volunteer opportunities and signup. Come tour our school, find your classroom, see your friends, and grab a casual dinner. The campus will be open on August 21st from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Come any time that works for your schedule to prepare for the first day of school. PTA volunteers will be on site in purple Arroyo shirts to answer questions about the school day, programs, events, and PTAEZ. Food trucks will be on site for a casual family dinner.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AND WELCOME COFFEE
Welcome to Arroyo! School will begin at 8:35 and end at 1:10 that day.
Back to School Welcome Coffee will be held from 8:40-10:00am.
FAMILY FIESTA FUN NIGHT
Join us for a fiesta from 6:00 - 8:00 pm! Bring your whole family and a blanket, and come gather with your Arroyo friends for a fun family evening featuring live entertainment courtesy of the Mariachi band, Trio Sol De Mexico. A Mexican dinner by La Corneta Taqueria will be available for purchase.

Mark your calendars for Picture Day and look for more information to be sent home with your child after school starts.

STAMPEDE & SOAR FUN RUN
Following the devastating North Bay fires, in the interest of the health and safety of our students, this Sunday's Stampede & Soar event has been cancelled.
Stampede & Soar is now a community bake sale to benefit fire victims as we've learned that the biggest need is for cash donations.
Dressed up Arroyo students will celebrate Halloween at school in the CMS Mustang Hall with their classes.

OUTDOOR ED 5TH GRADE OVERNIGHT FIELD TRIP
In this four day overnight science camp, 5th grade students will learn about the natural world, explore the forest and beach ecosystems, and work together as a community.
Parent Information Meeting: Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, 6:00-7:00 pm
Dates of Attendance: Monday, Nov. 6 - Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017
Cost*: $400.00 (This covers transportation to and from camp, all room and board, and instruction provided by Outdoor Education staff members.)
Payment #1, $200, due: Friday, September 29, 2017
Payment #2, $200, due: Friday, October 27, 2017
Specific information will be provided to parents/Guardians at the information meeting in September. A representative of the camp will also be visiting Arroyo prior to the trip, to review camp expectations and to answer student questions.

USED BOOK FAIR
Set aside books your children have read and save them for this new event. Arroyo students will collect used children’s books, price them, advertise the event, and sell the books! This is a great leadership and community building opportunity.
