Hello Arroyo Parents and Guardians,
We had a wonderful week celebrating kindness last week. The students did a great job looking for ways to spread kindness with each other, while also having fun embracing the daily dress up themes. We also wrapped up our wonderful mural painting experience with our muralist, Flo deBretagne. The Arroyo staff and students just love the completed mural. On Friday we had the privilege to meet two sister authors, Heidi Lang and Kati Bartkowski, co-authors of the book A Dash is Dragon. They visited with us and shared how they engage in their collaborative writing process. The students were enthralled!
We kick off this week with the awards night for the 5th grade Science Fair, which is tonight at 7:30pm, in the Learning Commons. And we look forward to the ROPES presentations next week, which will happen Monday-Wednesday night at CMS. If your 4th grader needs any last minute support, please encourage him or her to speak with me. I can’t wait to celebrate all of the hard work that our students have put into these projects! Lastly, I want to share that our new leadership teams are all starting up. Last week the House of Representatives met and this week the Tech Support team and Ambassadors will be meeting. We will also launch a second round of student run clubs, which will be announced today.
I love seeing the ways that our students are embracing the many opportunities that are being presented to them, in addition to the great learning that they are doing in the classrooms. Go Eagles!
- Upcoming Dates to Keep in Mind:
- February 5-7: ROPES presentations
- February 7: PTA meeting (7:00 pm)
- February 12-13: Student-Run Used Book Fair
- February 19-23: President’s Week Holiday, No School
