Hello Arroyo Eagles!
Welcome to the new school year. I hope to see many of you at Arroyo Day, from 4:00-6:00pm this afternoon. This might be a great opportunity to practice walking or rolling to school as a family so that you can practice the route and safety routines. And speaking of safety, please review the Safe Routes to School Map and the Pick Up/Drop Off Procedures in the Arroyo 2017-18 Parent Guide. This Parent Guide is also a great way to learn about our programs, bell schedule, Arroyo School staff and events, San Carlos School District, SCEF, and our Arroyo/CMS PTA.
We will have some new faces on campus this year. Joining the Arroyo team are Megan Scatena and Heidi Umber, both 4th grade teachers; Andrea Dimas, our school counselor; and Jeff Alexander our part time tech associate (shared with Mariposa School). Please join us in welcoming our wonderful new staff!
We can’t wait to greet you and your children on Wednesday, August 23rd, on our first day of school. The first bell will ring at 8:30am with school hours running from 8:35am until 1:10pm on that day.
Here’s to a wonderful school year. Go Arroyo Eagles!
Marie Crawford, Arroyo Principal
On behalf of the Central Arroyo PTA, we welcome back our returning families as well as our new families to the Central Arroyo community! We have so much in store for our students this year including Art-in-Action, the Arroyo Garden, Family Fiesta Night, the Used Book Fair, the Arroyo Dance, the Talent Show, and much much more.
The PTA’s goal is to make things as easy as possible for our families. In an effort to streamline our fundraising efforts, we are asking for a one-time donation of $250 per family. This approach means that we can shift the focus of our Stampede & Soar fun run to being a community-building event, open to all students and family members, vs. a fundraiser. This change also enables our PTA to effectively budget and plan programs based on funds raised early in the school year. Please come to our first PTA meeting on Wednesday, September 13 at 8:50am and provide your input on our programs and events for the year – we will be voting on our budget and discussing the year.
We will provide information about this new approach in addition to information about volunteering opportunities at Arroyo Day on Wednesday. You will be able to join the PTA, make your PTA donation, buy spirit wear, volunteer for any event or program that interests you, ask questions, find your classroom, tour the garden, make your SCEF donation, and buy tickets for the Family Fiesta Night as well. We will have volunteers available to answer all of your questions at Arroyo Day (Learning Commons) and at the Back to School Coffee (Library). You can also reach us for questions at email@example.com.
Don’t Miss the Arroyo Family Fiesta!
