The Arroyo teachers and I are very excited to welcome you to our Arroyo Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 30th from 5:30-7:15pm. You will be able to hear from your child’s elective, exploratory and PE teachers from 5:30-6:00pm. Then join us in Mustang Hall from 6:00-6:30pm for a brief gathering to hear from SCEF and PTA, while also receiving some highlights about the upcoming year and announcements for the evening. Then you will be welcome to attend your child’s classroom teacher presentation from 6:30-7:15pm. We’ll share more specific information and school maps on Tuesday. We look forward to seeing all of you here!
Please also note that Tuesday will be a minimum day. The students will be dismissed at 1:10pm on Tuesday August 29th. Central Middle School will also share this minimum day with Aroyo. As we gear up for Back to School night on August 30 and our first PTA meeting of the year on September 13, our fundraising drive is well under way. This year, in an effort to streamline our fundraising efforts, we are requesting a one time donation of $250 per family (or any amount you are comfortable with). This donation will be used to fund Art in Action, the Arroyo Garden, teacher and library grants, staff appreciation, among many other things. A flyer will be sent home with your child this week with more information about this request. Please make your donation in the online store on our Arroyo website under Parents/Online Store.
Thank you to those parents who have already made their donation to fund the PTA and to those who have already signed up to volunteer for all of the programs and events that PTA supports. We will not have volunteer signups at Back to School Night on Wednesday, but parents can sign up for everything at Parents/Volunteer on our Arroyo website. (This is true except for room parent. If you would like to sign up for room parent or have any PTA related questions, please contact Megan Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org or at email@example.com).
Family Fiesta Night was fantastic! Thank you to Allison Rak and Jennifer Rudy for organizing this event and for leading a large group of volunteers before, during, and after all the fun. Thank you also to all the volunteers at Arroyo Day and the Back to School Coffee – those events required a lot of parent help and you all made it possible. If you have any feedback on our events and programs, please share it so we can continue to improve them every year.
