Hello Arroyo Parents and Guardians,
We have completed our statewide testing. Hurrah! Now we are focusing on our projects and hands on learning experiences so that we can share them all with you on Wednesday, May 30th. Please join us for a wonderful night of celebration during our Arroyo Open House. We will start in the Learning Commons at 4:30pm so that you can visit the art show and see all of the wonderful artwork from the year (thank you Art in Action volunteers for all of your work setting this up!). Then at 5:00pm we will have the classrooms and garden open until 6:00pm. After that we will close the school so that we can head over to Mustang Hall for dinner and time to celebrate our Honorary Service Award recipients. If you would like to continue on to see the Open House at Central Middle School, it will run from 6:30-8:00pm. We can’t wait to share all of the wonderful learning experiences that your child has been engaged in recently.
Upcoming Dates to Keep in Mind:
- May 30: Open House (5:00-6:00pm @ Arroyo); Pizza and Honorary Service Awards (6:00-6:30pm @ Mustang Hall)
- May 31: Minimum Day!
- June 8: Arroyo Volunteer Appreciation Coffee (8:00am in Learning Commons)- New!
- June 8: Student Talent Show (6:00pm in Mustang Hall)

The Central Arroyo PTA will be hosting a pizza and salad dinner in Mustang Hall for all families coming to the Open House on May 30th. We will begin serving pizza at 6pm, first come first served! Please be sure to join us for the Honorary Service Awards.
The next PTA meeting is June 7 at 7PM in the library. We will hold elections for next year’s board.
A Message from Arroyo Library
All library books are due by June 1st. That is this Friday. Please drop books at the library or in Mrs. Hultgren’s box in the office this week. Thanks!
Lost and Found is Overflowing
Please come by and reclaim your lost items before the end of the school year. We will donate all unclaimed items on June 15th. Thanks for your help with this!
What does my SCEF donation fund at my school?
SCEF’s mission is to provide equity among all San Carlos schools and to bridge the gap between what the State provides and the needs of our students. Your donations to SCEF are used to fund key programs at Arroyo. SCEF dollars help keep the library open and staffed, underwrite the cost of counselors to provide emotional support and teach cooperation & citizenship, support band and orchestra beginning in 5th grade, and provide funding for certain field trips. SCEF dollars are used at Arroyo to purchase technology devices and fund Tech Associates who support your child’s safe and effective use of technology. In addition, the Principal receives a grant every year from SCEF to fund Arroyo specific needs.
Please make your donation by June 30, 2018 to ensure that all these programs continue next year at your child’s school. Make your donation today at: www.scefkids.org/donate
San Carlos Night at SF Giants

Pick up Medication at the School Office
This is a reminder to families of students with medications at school to pick the medications up from the school office the final day of school. Medications not picked up will be disposed of.
Please remember to have orders for school medications renewed this summer. The district requires new orders signed by your health care provider each year.
If you have questions please contact the nursing team at email@example.com.

Math Review – Fun Ways to Get Back to the Basics
Does your child need to brush up on their math skills before school starts? Students in this camp will feel more confident returning to school better prepared. The class will be offered the week of August 6-10. There is a class for incoming 5th/6th graders and incoming 7th/8th graders. Please see the San Carlos Park and Rec Guide (page 14) for more information on how to sign up for the class. This class is taught by a veteran Math Teacher.
