Hello Arroyo Parents and Guardians,
Thank you so much for coming together as an incredibly strong community to support our students in their new school exiting procedures. I know that there were probably many conversations at home about why we were making the change and how this would impact your child’s routine. Thank you for being the committed and supportive parent community that you are. We were able to change behaviors in one day. That’s amazing!
Please join us for Family Night at Arroyo & CMS on October 4th. Purchase some great books at the Book Fair and have fun connecting with other families. Also on October 4th we will participate in Walk to School Day. This is a great day to remind your children about how to walk or roll to school in a safe, focused way that is free of electronic distractions.
Upcoming Dates to Keep in Mind:
- October 2-6: Central Arroyo Book Fair
- October 4: Walk to School Day & Family Night at Arroyo
- October 15: Stampede and Soar
- October 23: 4th grade ROPES Orientation @ 6:00pm in Mustang Hall
- October 23-27: Goal Setting Conferences
Marie Crawford, Arroyo Principal
The Wild West Book Fair is here!
The Central Arroyo Book Fair is open this week for students, as well as Wednesday evening, and Friday morning for parents. Students in 4th – 7th Grades will visit the book fair with their teachers (check details in the flyer that went home for your child’s specific time). There will be a great selection of books for all grades. You can send your child to school with a check made payable to Central Arroyo PTA for them to purchase books (please note the limit they can spend in the “memo” section). We will fill in the amount spent on the check.
The Book Fair will be open before and after school, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, except on Wednesday when it will be open from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. The Family Night event will be Wednesday, October 4th, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Pizza will be served in the cafeteria from 5:30 – 7:00 pm hosted by our PTA. Also, parents are invited to join us for Bagels and Books on Friday, October 6th from 8:00 – 9:00 am for shopping with a cup of coffee and a bagel. If you can’t make it to Family Night, Bagels and Books is a great chance to do some book shopping and stock up on your holiday gifts!
We need your help to make this event a great success! Please consider signing up here for a slot (or more) to help out. It is a great chance to visit with the students and encourage them to find great books to enjoy. Thank you for your support!
Funds raised from the Book Fair help support the Central Arroyo PTA. If you have any questions please contact Kathy at firstname.lastname@example.org, Eileen at email@example.com, Katie at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Cynthia at email@example.com.
Stampede & Soar takes place October 15th

You can still register your student for the timed competitive heat (prizes will be awarded) until October 9th at 6:30pm. We encourage all Arroyo and Central Middle School students to participate in this fun community building event. The first heat will be a 5K competitive race and the second heat will be a 3K fun walk/jog.
Interested in helping out? We need your help making this event a success! Please send your contact information to our new Stampede & Soar Co -Chairs, Julie Alsaegh at firstname.lastname@example.org, and Nina Shah at email@example.com.
