Riley Run 2018 – Time to Register!
Riley Norton was a Brittan Acres and CMS student who was loved by family and friends in San Carlos and beyond. Every year we honor and remember him with a 5K run around San Carlos. This year's event will be held on April 21st at 4 pm at the upper playground at Brittan Acres. Romeo and Juliet
FREE performances of San Francisco Shakespeare Festival's touring production of "Romeo and Juliet"
All are invited to attend a FREE performance of this classic tale of star-crossed lovers. In addition to the play's examination of parent-child conflict and prejudices fueled by an ancient feud, there are swash-buckling action scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat! At the end of the hour-long performance the cast will take questions from the audience.

In partnership with the California Academy of Sciences the San Carlos Library presents
Science Action Club for San Carlos youth! Bug Safari explores small creatures with big
environmental impacts. On local field expeditions, youth search for bugs, collect specimens,
and post photographs to iNaturalist—a citizen science project and online social network for
nature research. Science Action Club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00PM, 2/27-4/5/2018.

Writing Classes for Elementary and Middle School Students
Sentence Center helps students become better writers. We offer writing classes for elementary and middle school students in which we teach composition, organization, and elaboration in small groups. In addition, students will improve their grammar and sentence structure, build a stronger vocabulary, and feel more confident as emerging writers. Voting in San Mateo County is Changing in June!
The Voter’s Choice Act will go into effect for the June 5, 2018 election. As a result, all registered voters in the county will receive a mail-in ballot in May. Voters can mail it back in the postage-paid envelope they receive with the ballot, take it to a secure Ballot Drop-Off Box, or drop it off at any of the County’s Vote Centers. They can also register to vote and vote in any Vote Center in the county. Look for a list of Ballot Drop-Off Boxes and Vote Centers at smcacre.org soon. Remember: don't throw away your ballot as it has valuable information on how, where, and when to vote!

Hiller Aviation Museum – Airport Runway Run
The second annual 2k/5k/10k Airport Runway Run will be held April 22, 2018, benefiting the Hiller Aviation Museum. The kids/family 2K takes place nearly entirely on the airport runway.
